Beale goes to find Kasskar...Beale plays his pipe into the room.  [Beale finds Kasskar substantially under the influence of opium.]

B: Hello good sir, hope you enjoy my song.

K: Good evening, good sir.

B: I understand you're Kasskar from the Mononcalf.

K: Yes.

B: My name is Beale the Goldenpiper.

K: Have you come to perform?

B: I do occasionally, but I came more just to introduce myself.  I live here now, I'm a bit of a chronicler of fables or local lore.

K: I love lore!

B: I understand you are somewhat of a local hero and figure.

K: You have the eye of destiny on you, don't you?  I can almost smell it on you.

B: I like to think so maybe. I don't know what you're referring to though.

K: You'll find out.  Whether or not you'll live I don't know.

B: Speaking of which, I was wondering if you could tell us a little about Ishild.

K: Did you know he's our neighbor?

B: He used to be yours right?  Well, we're in a bit of a pickle.

K: Do you want to see his room? I could arrange that.

B: That would be cool.  Anything interesting there?

K: Do you understand mathematics?

B: Funny enough I'm starting to learn.  I never expected that...riddle and thing.

K: I don't know what Ishild worked on for so many years, but it's all in his formulas and math.

B: He's a mathematician?

K: I don't know but that's what I saw.

B: I would like to see that for sure.

K: There might have been one key codex in his safe.  Who knows if the rest is useful without that. I can't remember what happened to it though.

B: Is that his weakness?

K: His weakness?  Well he's still around, we've killed him twice.  I don't know.

B: How did you kill him?   These are my friends. 

Melek: You got me thinking I should try this opium.

B: How did you kill him?

K: I used a dagger.  The magic dagger had normal glamor but it worked.  Of course he came back.

Marina: Do you know where he keeps his soul?

K: I know that secret.

M [Marina? Melek?]: Where does he keep it?

K: I don't know now.  The last time I remember seeing it was with this sinister barbarian.

M: Is that the person's name?

K: I think my company is coming.

B: It would really be nice if we wanted to get Ishild out of his lair for a while, how would you do it back in the day.  

K: We didn't, we just killed him.

Marina: Because you didn't get rid of the thing that contained his soul.

K:  We were looking for a book with ribbons or something like that, a fancy object of value.

B: Was that the codex?

K: That turned out to be just a book.

Marina: Didn't we hear about a ring?

K: Yes, that was it.  Plain silver.

Marina: Was he wearing it?

K: We took it off of his dead body.  

Marina: But he still came back.

K: We think it was that ring.  I don't remember what happened to it.  I last saw it with the barbarian.
