Melina mentioned that Helmholz, Board Member & Master of Revels, and Parja, the Secretary of the Admiralty, are now missing.

We talk to Melina about Helmholz.  She last saw Helmholz on Tuesday at the 10 AM board meeting.  Woodhouse & Herschel are involved with Silk Import business from the Caliphate. They have a warehouse on the docks in Braddock.  We go to the warehouse.  We meet Walker, the bookkeeper.  He says that the 11 AM meeting was about banning silk import bill, but there their bill was defeated possibly by Quentin Smith, Tharldon’s trade ambassador, using Miss Miller’s ladies.  11 AM meeting was at the Great Council Hall (Helmholz, Melina and Parja all have offices in the Hall).  He has not seen Woodhouse & Herschel since Tuesday.  We return to the Great Council Hall.  We go to Helmholz office.  He has notes about the meeting with Parja, Woodhouse and Hershel about the anti-banqueting bill (prohibits women at banquent except for wives) to limit ladies from influencing votes.  The anti-banqueting bill did fail (at the 4 PM meeting).  They met in Helmholz office.  We go to Parja’s office.  Singleton is Parja’s assistant.  He hasn’t seen him in two days.   He offers to answer questions but declines to allow us into Parja’s office.  Roland leaves and seeks out Melina.  Gwyneth charms Singleton and asks him questions.  Singleton says that after the 11 AM meeting he doesn’t know where they went.  Downey was making a patent to process coal, which would cost the Admiralty more, they tried to defeat the patent via a bill but defeated as well the anti-banqueting bill.  They were mad and went to the Moon calf to confront Miss Miller about using her ladies to sway votes.  Miss Miller is also head of the Toffers Gang and she was paid or given favors to sway the votes.  

We decide to see Downey.   He has a house on the Great Council Square.  Upscale address.  We ask for Downey but he has not been since Tuesday when he left for the 4 PM Great Council meeting alone in good spirits.  Downey defeated Parsha in both bills.  He is a regular at Miss Millers.  We adjourn to the Mooncalf.  
We enter the Pipe Room.  All the walls and ceiling have unique pipe racks.  A pipe steward, Owen, is there.  Gwyneth has a pipe here.  Owen sells a pipe to Roland, used to belong to the Hollin Oracle owned by the West Wind Zephyr carved out of Ship.  An unkempt man, Manfred Unger, enters the room.  He thanks us profusely.  His friend Annie, from the Quternian Society, bought him some clothes.  Annie seems on the up and up.  We adjourn to the barroom and get a table.  The lady, Velvet, talks to us who talked to Roland before.  Gwyneth talks to her about getting hired as a mercenary.  Velvet offers to provide protection for a few gold a month.  Gwyneth gives her some gold and mentions some disappearing people (Helmholz).  He’s usually here during the Tuesday night salon and was here Tuesday night.  Parja, Downey, Woodhouse & Herschel were also here Tuesday night.  Velvet then gets evasive when questioned.  Gwyneth fills us in.  Roland speaks to Vincent who gives us some port.  Roland talks to Vincent about the disappearances.  Vincent seems to know all about it.  He mentions that three heads of the Secret Police Died.  Vincent suggests we speak to Miss Miller in Apartment 6 or in the Opium Dens.  We go to the top floor of the Mooncalf.  We head to Apt 6.  Roland unlocks the door, some sounds from inside.  Two women are in the room (Velvet and someone else).  Roland marches in.  Girls scream.  A large man (bloody butchers apron) and lady enters.  Roland tells them to put down there weapons and answer questions or go to their graves.  Gwyneth tells Velvet “Honey, don’t.”  Gwenyth attacks the butcher as does Hughe.  Butcher attacks Gwyneth misses and she laughs at him.  He hits Hughe.  The girls pick up improvised weapons.  Roland tries to intimidate the girls, one runs to warn others and Roland KOs her.  Geoffraie hits the Butcher.  Gwyneth KOs the Butcher and kicks open the door.  She sees another lady and a another butcher.  She attacks the 2nd butcher.  Hughe misses.  Butcher attacks Hughe.  Roland KOs Girl 2 and then fights Velvet.  Geoffrie attacks 2nd Butcher.  Gwyneth crits the 2nd Butcher.  Hughe finishes off the 2nd Butcher.  Velvet collapses.  Roland ties up Velvet.  We search the connected rooms.  B has two bodies.  One is Parja (dead), the other is likely Downey (dead) with a journal (a cipher (using a mirror)).   E and F are empty.  No other bodies here.
